What is Trauma?

There are three types of trauma.

Regardless of the type of trauma, people who experience something traumatic often suffer or experience the following emotional symptoms: anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, emotional outbursts, difficulty trusting, memory issues, difficulties maintaining and sustaining relationships, intimacy issues, etc. Trauma can also affect you physically (e.g., headaches, stomachaches, nausea, fatigue, body aches, difficulty concentrating and sleeping, etc.)

Our Process

If trauma is something you're dealing with, we'll guide you through a simple process. You'll fill out some questionnaires to give us a better understanding of how you're feeling and how it's affecting you, both mentally and physically.

During your time with us, we use a special tool created by our founder, Dr. Toussaint. It's all about tailoring our approach to fit you perfectly so you get the support you need.

Together, we'll work on a plan that's unique to Path2Growth. It's not just about managing symptoms—it's about helping you move forward from whatever's been holding you back, whether it's been a few weeks, a few months, or even longer.

How We Can Help

Trauma-Focused Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based treatment highly recognized for its effectiveness in treating and decreasing symptoms of PTSD or post-traumatic stress. TF-CBT is effective in treating children, teens, or adults who have suffered from single or multiple traumas. In combination with other somatic-based and holistic healing practices, the therapists at P2G use TF-CBT to help clients address and resolve the stress that resulted from their traumatic experience(s). We strive to give our clients the resources, tools, knowledge, and support they need to overcome, recover, and grow from their trauma.

Generational Healing

At Path2Growth, we also specialize in the recovery of not just the client but breaking cycles stemming from generational trauma. While trauma may be passed down, so can healing. Dr. Toussaint’s treatment program also includes identifying triggers, stressors, and patterns that are stopping the client from reaching their full potential. Following treatment, clients feel confident that they are able to stop patterns and habits that they endured as children and identify ways in which they can model healthy coping skills for generations to come!

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese form of alternative medicine called energy healing. Reiki masters use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through a "universal energy" that is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the client in order to promote emotional healing.
